Berrymans Lace Mawer has made up seven lawyers to the firm's partnership in its second round of promotions this year.

Four of the promotions come in Berrymans' London office, with the remaining promotions shared between the national firm's Manchester and Southampton arms.

In the City, Martin Jensen and Alex Traill join the partnership in the professional indemnity practice, alongside Adam Lidster in costs and Greg McEwen in healthcare.

Elsewhere, Naomi Grant joins the partnership in the Manchester fraud practice, while Southampton-based lawyers Matthew Burfield and Philip Gibbons have been made up in catastrophic injury and personal injury respectively.

The promotions take the total number of partners at the firm to 137.

Berrymans senior partner Terry Renouf (pictured) said: "We like to have the flexibility of two rounds of annual promotions as it allows us to meet the needs of the firm and clients throughout the year.

"All of our teams are busy at the moment and they have a need for partners and it was the right time for these young lawyers to come through to the partnership. Promotions in London and Manchester are a reflection of the fact that these are our larger offices and have more work flowing through them at any one time – I expect promotions in other offices at the appropriate time."

The news follows Berrymans' promotion round in April that saw three associates made up to partner in the firm's City and Birmingham offices.

Berrymans broke into the UK top 50 rankings by revenue in 2009, and this year saw turnover rise a further 9% to £69.4m.
