Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has grown its Singapore arm with the hire of a corporate finance team from Holman Fenwick Willan led by practice head Alistair Duffield.

Duffield (pictured) is set to join BLP as Singapore managing partner with a start date still to be decided. He will bring with him a team of five lawyers including Tahirah Ara, who will join as a partner.

Marius Toime and Brendan Fyfe will join as senior associates, alongside associates Erline Herrmann and Elesse Neuteboom-Law Sook Ying.

Duffield will take over the role of managing partner from asset finance partner Tom Budgett, who has temporarily held the role after former managing partner Paul Supramaniam left BLP set up his own practice earlier this year.

Budgett said: "We are committed to expanding our practice in Southeast Asia and these recent hires will double the size of our office in Singapore.

"Alistair has a wealth of experience in project-related corporate finance and corporate and commercial work, as well as a strong focus on Indonesia, which is an area we are increasingly looking at."

BLP opened in Singapore in 2007 and currently offers services in corporate, asset finance, banking and capital markets transactions and dispute resolution.
