Clyde & Co has expanded its corporate insurance team with the hire of Hill Dickinson partner William Tsang earlier this month.

Tsang has joined as a partner in Clydes' City corporate insurance practice, however he is expected to relocate to Clydes' Hong Kong arm early next year as the firm bids to expand its corporate insurance practice in Asia.

Tsang, who served as an associate with Barlow Lyde & Gilbert and DLA Piper before joining Hill Dickinson, has more than 10 years of non-contentious insurance and reinsurance experience, with an emphasis on Lloyds and exit strategies.

His regulatory advice includes insurance mediation and authorisations.

Clydes' global head of corporate insurance, Andrew Holderness, said: "When we asked our clients recently where they were looking to develop, Asia came out as the primary target time and time again, so we†are building our corporate insurance capability there.

"We will be looking to do this through both relocations and lateral hires, and we have found that momentum is starting to build and people are coming onto our radar, so we hope to achieve our target fairly quickly."

Clyde & Co opened its Hong Kong office in 1981 and currently has six partners operating there.

Tsang's move to Clydes follows the firm's hire of two other corporate insurance partners this year. Ivor Edwards joined the firm's City practice in May while Robert Ansehl joined the New York arm last month.
