Carey Olsen has grown its Guernsey arm with the hire of corporate partner Christopher Anderson from Bedell Cristin.

Anderson (pictured) joined the offshore firm's corporate and finance team this week after three years at Bedell, becoming the sixth partner in the group.

Prior to Bedell, Anderson worked at legacy Ozannes, Clayton Utz and Clifford Chance. He specialises in investment funds and insurance and reinsurance and has also worked with clients in the private equity sector.

He takes the number of partners in Carey Olsen's Guernsey outfit to 16.

Anderson said: "The opportunity to work in a larger group of top-quality lawyers with such a strong reputation was what really drew me to the firm.

"Over the next few months I'm looking to grow my investment funds practice, support the firm's existing clients and contribute my insurance expertise to the corporate group."

The firm has 140 lawyers across three offices in Guernsey, Jersey and London.

Carey Olsen head of corporate Graham Hall, said: "The appointment brings the number of partners to 34 across the group, which will boost the services we are able to offer to our clients at partner level."
