Mayer Brown has announced its annual partner promotions with 32 lawyers made up across the firm, including six in the City.

The London promotions include Angus Duncan and Ian Roberts in insurance and reinsurance, Richard Goldstein in pensions, Rani Mina and Kristy Zander in litigation and dispute resolution and Sangeeta Puran in intellectual property (IP).

The remaining promotions comprise eight in Chicago, five in New York, one in Charlotte, six in Hong Kong, three in Paris, two in Frankfurt and one in Cologne.

The promotions outside of London are spread across the firm's banking and finance, IP, corporate and securities, litigation and dispute resolution, tax controversy and real estate practices.

Mayer Brown London senior partner Sean Connolly (pictured) said: "2010 has been a great year for the London office, and I am delighted to welcome these six lawyers to the partnership. It demonstrates that we are committed to growing the business in London organically and is a testament to the high calibre and quality of these individuals."

The new appointments are effective as of 1 January 2011.

The number of promotions this year is more than double the 2009 total, when 14 associates were made up to partner with just one in the City.
