Allen & Overy (A&O) banking partner Julian Harris is set to leave the magic circle firm's City arm to join an Irish private investment firm.

Harris is due to leave A&O at the end of January to take up a non-legal role at Dublin-based Three Line Capital Partners, a client of A&O. His departure comes after 25 years with A&O, where he qualified as a solicitor in 1988 and made partner in 1995.

Harris's finance practice includes experience of syndicated loans, project finance, property finance, acquisition finance and structured finance. He has spent time with A&O's international offices, including Hong Kong and Milan early in his career, before a spell from 2000 to 2005 in Amsterdam. He also spent time seconded to the London office of Chase Manhattan Bank early in his career.

An A&O spokesperson said: "Julian Harris has decided to leave A&O. We would like to thank him for the contribution he has made during his time at the firm and wish him all the best for the future."

Three Line Capital Partners is a private investment business which specialises in the energy, renewable technology, medical products and media sectors, with a focus on investments in Europe and North America.
