Norton Rose has grown its Paris arm with the hire of a DLA Piper partner for its intellectual property and technology (IPT) practice.

Marc d'Haultfoeuille is set to join the firm tomorrow (16 December) as a partner in the corporate finance team and will head up the growth of the IPT practice in Paris.

He joins from the Paris IPT group at DLA, where he has been a partner since 2008. He was also formerly a partner at Clifford Chance and Salans.

D'Haultfoeuille specialises in outsourcing and offshoring, IT, communications, intellectual property and data protection.

Norton Rose Paris head George Paterson said: "This hire is part of our aim to develop the IP/IT group both in Paris and across the firm as one of our headlight areas.

"Marc will be tasked with building the group for the office as well as helping to rebuild our corporate practice. He has a number of high-profile clients in the market and fits in well with our drive to grow our French arm with the right contacts and client base."

D'Haultfoeuille will be joined at Norton Rose by DLA senior associate Nadege Martin, who will make the move in the New Year.

The news follows the resignation of four corporate finance partners from the Norton Rose Paris outfit in October this year following disagreements about the direction of the office.
