Jones Day has made two partner promotions in London as a part of a 36-strong global partnership round, which will take effect in the New Year (1 January).

Alex Millar, who is joining the partnership in the US firm's City real estate practice, has worked on the development of and investment in business parks, retails parks, hotels and industrial estates.

Kay Morley, meanwhile, has been made up the firm's London restructuring group. She focuses on non-contentious insolvency, business restructuring and the refinancing of companies.

The two London promotions come alongside 34 other new partners, with eight joining the firm's global corporate practice, with seven in litigation and four in IP.

The remaining promotions are spread across antitrust, banking and finance, employment and restructuring, real estate, regulatory, tax and health care.

The total number of promotions is the same as last year, when Jones Day also made up two new partners in London. Last year, both London promotions came in the firm's litigation practice.

Jones Day managing partner Stephen Brogan said: "We welcome these fine lawyers to our partnership – they have displayed the highest level of professional accomplishment, commitment to the firm, leadership."
