Mishcon de Reya has bolstered its corporate practice with the hire of Saul Sender from Reed Smith.

Sender will become the 13th corporate partner at Mishcons when he joins the City law firm as a partner in its London office next month (7 February). He specialises in corporate finance, capital raisings and M&A work and has recently advised on a number of mining deals in Africa.

Sender joined Reed Smith as a senior associate in 2005 from Allen & Overy, making partner in 2007.

Mishcons corporate head Nick Davis said: "Saul has very good equity capital markets experience and is complementary to our team. Corporate is doing well, which is reflected in our recent recruitment drive.

"We are also on track to hit this financial year's budget. Corporate is an area that we see as being very active going forward."

Sender's hire is the second for Mishcons' corporate practice in recent months, having taken on partner Dean Poster last year from Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe to focus on cross-border M&A and corporate real estate work.

Separately, Mishcons banking and finance head Dan Morrison is leaving the firm to set up his own boutique, Grosvenor Law, which launches next month.

The new firm will focus on contentious work including corporate fraud and financial disputes. Morrison will continue to work with Mishcons in a referral capacity. He will be replaced as banking head by finance partner Masoud Zabeti.
