K&L Gates, Dewey & LeBoeuf and Bingham McCutchen have announced the details of their latest partner promotions rounds, with just three London lawyers made up across the three US firms.

K&L Gates has made one partner appointment in its London office as a part of a 44-strong global promotions round, with corporate lawyer Thomas Sibert joining the UK partnership.

Sibert advises on corporate transactions with a focus on M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions and joint ventures.

Thirty-seven of K&L Gates' 44 partner promotions came in the firm's US offices, with the remaining six shared across its Berlin, Hong Kong and Warsaw bases.

Firmwide managing partner Peter Kalis (pictured) commented: "This year's entering class of partners represents the diversity of locations and practice disciplines of a global law firm. They are a great group, and we're delighted to welcome them to the partnership."

Dewey, meanwhile, has made up two lawyers in London, with City corporate finance lawyer Prakash Paran added to the salaried partner ranks and energy specialist Kimberley Wood made up to the firm's equity as of 1 January.

Nine additional partner promotions have been made across the firm's New York, Dubai, Moscow, Warsaw, Milan and Johannesburg offices, including a trio of lawyers joining the equity in New York.

Elsewhere, Bingham McCutchen's promotions round included no London lawyers, with the Boston-headquartered firm making up 13 lawyers on both US coasts in practices including structured transactions, antitrust, environmental, private equity, energy and project finance, institutional finance and investment.

The total numbers of new City partners at the three firms are roughly in line with last year, when K&L Gates made up one in London and Bingham and Dewey promoted none.
