I studied the GDL and LPC at the College of Law in Guildford from 2008-2010. I enjoyed my time immensely and participated in a broad range of activities. But when I reached the end of my time there, in common with many of my friends and peers, I found myself without a training contract to go into.

I looked to get some paralegal experience, but found the recruiters that I spoke to seemed more concerned with putting me into any role, as opposed to a position that could help build up my legal experience in an area of law that I would ultimately wish to practise in.

I decided to start The Stephen James Partnership Legal because I saw an opportunity to assist law graduates and paralegals in finding employment, and also as a way of paying back some of the debt that I had incurred along the way. I studied business before completing my legal studies, so combining business and law was a fairly logical progression.
