Nabarro's Simon Johnston has been re-elected as the firm's senior partner for the third time running, following an uncontested vote which concluded yesterday (3 February).

The new term, which will officially begin on 1 May, will run for a further five years.

Australian-born Johnston (pictured), who made partner in 1990, succeeded David Bramson as senior partner in 2001. At the time, Johnston was the first corporate partner to head the firm and, at the age of 39, the youngest to ever hold the role.

The reappointment comes after Nabarro posted a 3% rise in turnover at the half-year point of the 2010-11 financial year. The firm also recently launched a new office in Singapore, marking its second base outside of the UK.

Johnston said: "These are challenging times, both from a market and regulatory perspective. We have a clear strategy that has seen the firm's reputation and client base grow and diversify over the last decade."

He continued: "Notwithstanding the downturn, we have continued to invest in our people and our clients, including the recent opening of our Singapore office. As the market recovers, we look forward to benefiting from those investments."

Managing partner Nicole Paradise's three-year-term, which commenced in 2008, will come to an end later this year.
