DLA Piper has strengthened its intellectual property and technology (IPT) practice with the hire of Mike Conradi from technology boutique Kemp Little.

Conradi, who was a partner in the commercial technology team at Kemp Little, joins DLA Piper as a non-contentious telecoms partner in London.

Conradi joined Kemp Little in 2006, having previously worked as head of the technology practice at Stephenson Harwood, prior to which he worked at Baker & McKenzie in London and Sydney. His practice focuses on providing commercial and regulatory advice to clients in the communications and technology sectors.

DLA Piper's UK IPT chief Richard Bonnar commented:  "[Conradi] is a very talented and highly-regarded lawyer who will add considerable depth to the firm's IT and telecoms expertise both nationally and internationally. We look forward to welcoming him to the practice."

Conradi added: "I am very excited to be leveraging off the firm's fantastic international platform and reputation. I look forward to working with new colleagues in the US, the Middle East, Africa and Asia."

News of Conradi's hire comes in the same week that it emerged DLA Piper was adding a corporate partner in the City, with the hire of CMS Cameron McKenna partner Jonathan Lisle. However the firm is also set to see the departure of London corporate partners Kiran Sharma and Malcolm MacDougall to Ropes & Gray and Speechly Bircham respectively.
