Ince & Co has become the latest UK law firm to announce its global promotions round, with the firm making nine new partner appointments across its London, Hong Kong, Paris, Shanghai and Singapore offices.

The promotions, which will take effect on 1 May 2011, see the firm's London office gain four new partners, with Clare Kempkens , Jamila Khan, Matthew Moore and Kijong Nam all set to join the partnership.

The firm's Hong Kong, Paris and Singapore offices each gain one new partner apiece, while the firm's Shanghai arm gains two new partners. With the exception of Kempens, who sits in the energy & offshore practice, and Hong Kong partner Gary Wong, who is in the business and finance practice, all of the remaining new partners sit in Ince & Co's international trade and shipping group.

The promotions come in addition to two new partner appointments in Ince & Co's Hamburg office, which took effect on 1 January this year. Last year Ince & Co made up four new partners, with two in London.

Ince & Co senior partner James Wilson said: "As a group, [the new partners] bring an exciting cross section of skills and geographical focus. Each of our new partners has been with the firm for a number of years and all demonstrate the deep legal expertise, commitment and industry knowledge that our clients expect."

He added: "These promotions, from across our global network, not only reflect our continuing commitment to the firm's key areas of business but also strengthen our international capabilities."

The news comes after magic circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer announced its 2011 partner promotions last Friday (4 March), making up 20 lawyers across the firm, nine of whom will join the firm's City office.
