Howrey's last remaining London partner has joined US firm Fulbright & Jaworski's City office, following the firm's decision to dissolve last week (15 March).

Litigator John Evans, who joined Fulbright's disputes and investigations practice in London today (21 March), has more than three decades of experience in private practice, including 17 years as a partner at Ashurst and five years as a partner in Howrey's London office.

Evans handles complex litigation, including multi-party class action proceedings, and has represented clients in cartel abuse litigation and in disputes relating to pharmaceuticals, banking and finance.

His experience also includes advising energy clients on risk management issues relating to offshore drilling installations.

Fulbright executive committee chair Steven Pfeiffer commented: "John is a fitting addition to our growing UK and international disputes and investigations practice in London. We have put together a strong team of English law qualified practitioners."

Fulbright London managing partner Lista Cannon added: "John's arrival marks the latest step in the development of a strong UK and international disputes practice in London. John's cross-sector experience of handling UK and international disputes makes him a great addition to the team of English law disputes lawyers that we already have in place here in London."

Several US firms have recently recruited partners from the now defunct Howrey, including Winston & Strawn, which is launching a new base in Houston with the hire of more than 40 intellectual property and commercial litigation lawyers.
