CMS Cameron McKenna's former managing partner Dick Tyler has been elected as the firm's new senior partner.
Tyler (pictured) saw off competition from consumer products sector head Louise Wallace in the third and final round of voting which closed on Friday (25 March) to secure the appointment to replace current incumbent Richard Price on 1 May.
Earlier voting rounds had seen the elimination of banking and project finance partner Andrew Ivison and energy partner Robert Lane, who heads the firm's regulated industries team.
Tyler, joined the firm in 1983 and served as the firm's managing partner between 2000 and 2008. He is due to return to London imminently to take up the post, having been working in Frankfurt as executive partner of the CMS European network since handing over the managing partner reins to Duncan Weston in 2008.
Tyler commented: "I am very pleased to have been elected as senior partner. There is great talent throughout this firm and our partners are passionate about our success. My job is to help them achieve it."
He has been appointed for a four-year term. Price has been Camerons' senior partner since 2002, when he replaced Bill Shelford. The firm's board extended his term by one year last year to allow him to see through strategic objectives at the firm, including the outsourcing of the bulk of the firm's back office function to Integreon.
Weston added: "I am looking forward to working with Dick. We have much to achieve over the coming years. We need to capitalise on the strength of our CMS European offering and our sector expertise. With Integreon taking on responsibility for the majority of our business services, we will be in a stronger position to focus on delivering the best European service to clients."
