Cuatrecasas Goncalves Pereira has announced its annual promotions, with 10 lawyers made up to the firm's partnership following last week's partners' conference.

The promotions, which are spread across five of the firm's offices, mark a decrease on last year's total of 18. The bulk of the new partners are based in the firm's Madrid office, with Esther de Felix, Olga Garcia and Pedro Campana in the litigation practice and Jose Luis Rodriguez in commercial.

Elsewhere, three have joined the partnership in Barcelona – Inigo Aguirrezabala in finance tax, Manuel Follia in commercial and Juan Antonio Ruiz in litigation. Meanwhile, Maria Jose Guillen has been promoted in the Valencia commercial group, Francisco Pico in finance tax in Alicante and Maria da Paz Tierno Lopes in the commercial group in Lisbon.

Portugal co-managing partner Maria Joao Ricou said: "The slightly lower number of promotions this year reflects the tough conditions that have been faced by the Iberian market and is simply in keeping with the slower growth rates imposed on firms during difficult economic conditions.

"One of the main things that we discussed at last week's partners' meeting was greater integration between the Portuguese and Spanish offices in terms of clients and sector groups in order to develop our potential as an Iberian firm. We also looked at our international forecast and expect to grow further internationally in the coming months."

The firm's turnover increased by 3% last year to €241.7m (£212.9m), up from €235m (£207m) in 2009.
