Italian independent NCTM has overhauled its management structure, replacing its co-managing partner positions with a new five-partner executive committee.

Former managing partners Vittorio Noseda and Piermauro Carabellese have been appointed to the committee to look after international relations and communication, and administration, finance and information technology respectively.

The committee is chaired by corporate partner Alberto Toffoletto, who will also co-ordinate the firm's practice areas. It also comprises corporate and commercial partner Sante Ricci, who will look after internal services, human resources and purchasing, and banking and finance head Stefano Padovani, who will be responsible for international relations and communications alongside Noseda.

NCTM decided to overhaul its management to give its former managing partners more time with clients as well as to increase the number of partners with management responsibility and speed up decision-making by allotting areas of responsibility to individual partners.

Noseda said: "NCTM continues to renew itself reflecting its growth over the last 10 years and therefore we decided it was important to introduce new changes to its governance. The amount of work required to run an organisation with more than 400 staff was becoming too great for two people, especially as we have continued to work as active lawyers concerned with the day-to-day concerns of our clients alongside our roles as managing partners. Therefore we have decided to delegate these responsibilities more broadly."
