Latham & Watkins has made one counsel to partner promotion in London in a six-strong global promotions round.

Holly Neavill, who is US-qualified, will join the partnership in the firm's London restructuring practice as of Friday (1 April).

Her client base includes European, offshore and American-based creditors, and she specialises in debt restructuring and rescheduling, equity capital raising, distressed M&A, as well as formal insolvency procedures and contingency planning.

With the addition of Neavill, the firm's London restructuring practice – which is currently headed by London restructuring partner John Houghton – will comprise 17 partners.

London managing partner Nick Cline commented: "[Neavill] is a talented lawyer with a great deal of experience and a commitment to providing her clients with an outstanding level of client service. Her promotion is just reward for her hard work and further strengthens the firm's restructuring and insolvency practice."

The remaining five partner promotions come in the firm's Beijing, Doha, Paris, Silicon Valley and Washington DC offices in corporate and finance.

In its most recent promotions round, which took effect in January, the US firm promoted 22 lawyers to its partnership around the world, with three made up in the firm's London office. The trio of City promotions came in project finance, employment and capital markets.
