Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has made up 13 new partners, marking the firm's largest partnership round since 2006.
The majority of the new partners, who will be made up as of 1 May, are based in the firm's City headquarters, which receives nine promotions, while three are based in Moscow and one in Singapore.
The firm's corporate department sees the largest number of new partners with five, followed by three each in finance and litigation. Tax and real estate receive one new partner apiece. Four – around one third – of the new partners are female, including two of the new Moscow partners.
The promotions come after BLP made up a total of eight new partners last year, including the first in its Moscow office.
Commenting on this year's round, BLP managing partner Neville Eisenberg said: "All of the new partners have done a great job for clients over the past few years and I am delighted that we can recognise their talent by welcoming them into the partnership. Three of the new partners have been at BLP since their traineeship and a further three are associate directors – a good demonstration of the flexibility of our career development structure."
The firm also highlighted that it had added 19 new partners from other firms via lateral hiring since January 2010.
Following the promotions, BLP will have a total of 213 partners, of which 190 are based in the UK.
Other firms to recently announce partner promotions include Allen & Overy, which is promoting 21 new partners, and Slaughter and May, which will make up five to its partnership on 1 May. Meanwhile, Trowers & Hamlins promoted only women in its six-strong round which took effect last week.
