Hill Dickinson has announced its partner promotions, with the firm adding nine lawyers to its partnership.

The firm's Liverpool gains four new partners, with three in London and two in Chester.

Broken down by practice area, property, regulatory and professional risk all gain two partners each, while the insurance, private client and commercial teams gain one apiece. The firm has also promoted one legal director, Philippa Hipwel, in its Liverpool office.

The promotions, which take effect from 1 May, mark an increase on last year, when the firm made up six associates to partner and one to legal director. The additions take partner headcount at the firm to over 200.

Hill Dickinson managing partner Peter Jackson (pictured) commented: "These individuals clearly demonstrate the wealth of expertise that the firm has at its disposal. They have achieved impressive results in their specialist areas of practice and are committed to client service excellence.

"They will set an excellent example to our junior lawyers, now that they have reached partner level."

Hill Dickinson's promotions come weeks after the firm announced that company commercial practice group head and Manchester office head David Wareing is to take over from Tony Wilson on 30 April as the firm's new senior partner.

Wilson, who has served as senior partner since 2001, will remain with the firm as an insurance partner in the Liverpool office.
