SNR Denton has announced its UK LLP partner promotions, with eight to be made up in the EMEA region in the largest promotions round since 2008.

All bar one of the new partners are based in the firm's London office, with the exception based in Doha.

The promotions will see three new City partners made up in banking and finance, one in energy, infrastructure and project finance, one in technology, media and telecommunications and one in real estate. Meanwhile, Doha is set to gain one new corporate partner.

The promotions come after the US arm of the transatlantic firm promoted 16 lawyers to the senior rank earlier this year (8 February).

SNR Denton global CEO Elliott Portnoy (pictured) and UK LLP CEO Matthew Jones expressed in a statement: "These new partners are not only exceptional lawyers, but also exemplify the client-focused and business-oriented lawyers that a global firm needs to be successful. We are confident that each of them will contribute to the long-term overall success of the firm."

The promotions round comes after legacy UK firm Denton Wilde Sapte made up just two partners in the 2010 promotions round, the last prior to its merger with Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal in September. The firm made up six in 2009 and 12 in 2008.

The news comes after Norton Rose today (20 April) announced that it is making up 15 new partners, including four in the City.
