Olswang has strengthened its London intellectual property practice (IP) with the hire of patent litigation partner Campbell Forsyth.

Forsyth, who joins from his own IP boutique Forsyth Simpson, focuses on patent litigation in the life sciences sector, where he has advised a range of pharmaceutical companies.

As part of his patent litigation practice, Forsyth has also helped develop alternative pricing structures for litigation claims, an area he will continue to be involved in at Olswang.

Commenting on the appointment, Olswang IP chief Michael Burdon said: "Campbell is not only a genuinely decent individual but a talented patent litigator who brings a wealth of expertise to our firm. By joining Olswang, he is able to dedicate more time and offer a greater breadth of service to his existing client base through the use of our infrastructure and resources.

"We equally look forward to utilising his European litigation expertise to build our IP practice across Olswang's European offices."

Forsyth added: "Olswang's approach is distinctly refreshing and progressive and I believe that in joining their IP group I am able to translate this to my client base."

Olswang's most recent London partner hire was the February addition of restructuring partner Julian Turner from Reed Smith.
