Charles Russell has announced the details of its annual promotions round, with 10 lawyers added to the firm's partnership.

Seven of the new partners have been made up in London, with the remaining three joining the partnership in the firm's Guildford office.

The City promotions see Jon Bond, Eve Ellis, Hamish Perry and Deborah Robson promoted in the corporate and commercial practice, with Michael Jones made up in employment.

Meanwhile, Noel Wardle and Jonathan Ellis have been made up in litigation in London, with Stephen Burns, David Marsden and Stephen Rockhill joining the partnership in the Guildford litigation practice.

Senior partner Patrick Russell said: "These promotions illustrate the continuing investment around the implementation of our strategy – 'Focused growth on strong foundations' – whose themes include investing in the development of our people and our areas of excellence – in particular our healthcare, property, sport and media and technology and communications sector focus groups."

The total number of new partners marks an increase on last year, when the firm made up eight lawyers to
the partnership.

Meanwhile, Taylor Wessing has also announced its 2011 promotions, with six lawyers handed partner status, marking a significant decrease on last year's 12-strong round.

Charles Russell and Taylor Wessing are among the last of the UK's top 50 law firms to confirm their partner promotions for this year, with Beachcroft, DWF, McGrigors and Withers yet to announce due to either delays or later financial year ends.
