Clyde & Co has boosted its City energy practice with the hire of Watson Farley & Williams partner Sandra Sinclair-Hughes.

Sinclair-Hughes joined the firm last week from the international project and structured finance group at Watson Farley. She specialises in advising offshore engineering and procurement contractors, service companies and oil companies in relation to project agreements including installation, leasing, operating and supply contracts.

Sinclair-Hughes, who is also qualified in South Africa where she started her career, has advised on transactions involving jurisdictions such as Norway, Brazil, Indonesia, Yemen, Africa, the Middle East and China. She has been at Watson Farley since 2005 and joined the partnership in 2008.

Sinclair-Hughes said: "Clyde & Co has increased its energy and infrastructure practice over the past two years and has an impressive global network. Clydes has one of the largest presences of any international firm in the Middle East, having first opened in Dubai in 1989, as well as an office in
sub-Saharan Africa. This makes for a powerful offering to energy clients."

Sinclair-Hughes' appointment marks the seventh partner hire for Clydes since January 2011, with the most recent addition that of DLA Piper City restructuring partner Stewart Perry, who joined last month.

News of the appointment comes after Clydes announced its financial results earlier this week, posting a 10% rise in turnover for the last financial year, taking revenue through the £200m barrier for the first time.
