Norton Rose has promoted 31 lawyers to its of counsel and special counsel ranks in the firm's latest global promotions round.
The firm's City office gained the largest number of new of counsel, with eight of the promoted lawyers based in London.
The firm, which last year merged with Australia's Deacons, has also made seven promotions to 'special counsel' – the Australian equivalent of the of counsel title.
The firm's Hong Kong, Moscow and Paris offices, meanwhile, have received three new of counsel respectively, with Athens and Singapore seeing two promotions, with one in each of the firm's Dubai, Warsaw and Frankfurt bases.
The promotions mark a significant push in banking, which received 13 new of counsel, while corporate received six. Other practice areas to benefit from the appointments include dispute resolution, insurance, employment and real estate.
Chief executive Peter Martyr (pictured) said: "[The appointments] reflect the high commitment of our lawyers and recognise the contributions these individuals have made to our business. It is especially good this year to see promotions in such a diverse range of geographies and practice areas."
The new promotions, which took effect on 1 May, follow the recent announcement of fifteen partner promotions at the firm.
