LG's real estate team has tightened links with two key clients, winning a sole advisory appointment for pension fund PAT and a first-time mandate from hotel group Malmaison.

The firm was named as sole real estate adviser to PAT, the trustee responsible for insurance group Pearl's pension scheme, last month after a pitching process carried out by PAT's fund manager DTZ Investment Management. LG head of real estate Richard Miles is leading the relationship.

PAT previously instructed Wedlake Bell and K&L Gates, which will continue to advise on existing matters, with new work to be given to LG.

Meanwhile, LG picked up its first mandate from Malmaison earlier this year, with real estate partner and former practice group head Rabinder Chaggar heading the relationship.

The hotel chain operates around 12 hotels across the UK in locations including London, Newcastle and Edinburgh.

The instructions come after LG's real estate team also won a first-time appointment on the Crown Estate's urban portfolio panel in March this year.

The firm was appointed alongside Burges Salmon to look after the portfolio, with Burges Salmon taking responsibility for the St James's portfolio and LG taking the Crown's regional urban portfolio. Both law firms were appointed for three-year terms beginning 1 April.

LG appointed new leadership for its real estate group last month, with Richard Miles taking up a new position as real estate head as of 1 May. He replaced Chaggar and Jon Lloyd, who had jointly held the post for the past three years.
