As America’s leading law firms edge back into growth mode after a prolonged global slump, many are demonstrating a renewed commitment to their London offices and the UK and European markets. By March of this year, the number of partner promotions among the City offices of US firms had almost reached the total figure for the whole of 2010, and an increased post-downturn investing pool has also sent lateral hires soaring, with 2010 ushering in levels of senior recruitment not seen since 2006.
