Kirkland & Ellis and White & Case have won lead roles on Swedish private equity firm EQT's £2.1bn sale of European alarm and security company Securitas Direct, reports The Am Law Daily.

A Kirkland team led by London corporate partners Ross Allardice, James Learner (pictured) and Sam Pakbaz is advising the buyers' consortium, which comprises private equity houses Bain Capital and Hellman & Friedman.

In-house efforts are being led by Bart Gombert, Bain's European general counsel, and Arrie Park, Hellman & Friedman's general counsel.

EQT has turned to White & Case as outside counsel on the transaction, fielding a team led by partner Ulf Johansson and senior associate and project manager Tuula-Anneli Tallavaara. Both are based in the firm's Stockholm office. Meena Ambardar is EQT's legal and compliance director.

Bain and Hellman beat off competition from buyout giants The Carlyle Group and Clayton Dubilier & Rice to seal the deal. EQT purchased Securitas Direct in 2008 from the Stockholm Stock Exchance in 2008.

Boston-based Bain is a longstanding Kirkland client. Allardice, Learner, and Pakbaz have represented the private equity shop in acquisitions worth more than $15bn (£9.4bn) combined.

The role for White & Case comes after the firm last year advised Nordea Bank in connection with EQT's $370m (£232m) acquisition of Swedish education company AcadeMedia.
