Dickinson Dees is set to open a new office in Leeds and transfer its entire York operation to the new base.

The firm will open the new office at the end of the year, at which point its York base will close, with the entire operation moving to Leeds.

Dickinson Dees has yet to find space in Leeds, however all 52 of its staff, including 29 lawyers, will make the move to Leeds, with no redundancies expected.

The decision comes around four years after Dickinson Dees first entered the Yorkshire market in 2007 through the acquisition of corporate boutique Philip Ashworth & Co. The firm said the relocation was necessary as Leeds is the commercial and financial capital of the region.

Managing partner Jonathan Blair (pictured) said: "Our business in Yorkshire has quadrupled in size to a turnover of £4.5m last year from when we first opened in 2007. Our move into Leeds will enable us to build further on this significant platform and help us to deliver the strategy we rolled out earlier this year.

"The strategy will see us expanding out market share and our geographical presence. In Yorkshire we believe we can best achieve this by being based out of Leeds."

Dickinson Dees has 650 staff working across offices in London and the Northeast of England.
