Brown Rudnick has strengthened its European bankruptcy and restructuring team with a partner hire from the London office of Chadbourne & Parke.

Insolvency partner Adrian Harris is set to join Brown Rudnick's London office in August, having been a partner at Chadbourne since 2006.

Harris specialises in complex cross-border insolvency and financial restructuring matters in the UK and across continental Europe. His practice also covers emerging markets, with a particular emphasis on Turkey.

Before joining Chadbourne Harris was a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he headed the London office from 2004 to 2005 and was head of the firm's European insolvency and restructuring group.

Harris told Legal Week: "Brown Rudnick has big ambitions in the practice area of bankruptcy and financial restructuring, as it looks to reflect in London its dominance in this practice area in the US. It's a very good opportunity for me."

London managing partner Scott Burns (pictured) added: "The firm has one of the strongest bankruptcy and corporate restructuring practices in the world. It's something that is at the heart of our business and Adrian should be a great addition to the team."

Harris is the latest in a string of hires at Brown Rudnick's London office with corporate partner Nick Terras joining the firm last month from Ashurst, where he led the structured funds team, along with White & Case corporate partner Massimo Galli.

Burns said the firm expected to make at least two more lateral hires in the London office by September.
