Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge has added a partner to its London intellectual property (IP) department with the hire of Richard Graham from Bird & Bird.

Graham, who joined the US firm's information technology and outsourcing function within its IP practice today (25 July), has been a lawyer in Bird & Bird's commercial group since 2004.

He has advised clients in sectors including financial services, healthcare, insurance, technology, media and telecommunications, and has also spent time in-house at both the Royal Bank of Scotland and Goldman Sachs.

Edwards Angell London managing partner Laurence Harris commented: "With Richard's experience in IT and outsourcing, he brings a dynamic new component to our UK practice.

"Our clients frequently seek advice in the areas in which he specialises, and they will immediately benefit from his impressive background."

Graham's move to Edwards Angell comes after City finance veteran Charles Proctor joined in May to launch a London banking practice for the US firm. Proctor had been a partner with Bird & Bird since 2005, when he joined from Nabarro.
