Pensions boutique Sackers & Partners has made up two partners in its annual promotions round.

The promotion of Eleanor Daplyn and Stuart O'Brien, which took effect on 1 August, brings the total number of partners at the City pensions firm to 28, after the same number was made up in last year's round.

Daplyn, who started her career at Clifford Chance before joining Sackers on qualification in 2003, advises a wide range of trustee and employment clients on all aspects of pensions law. She has particular expertise of the post-2006 tax regime, scheme mergers and advising trustees in relation to scheme restructuring.

Meanwhile, O'Brien, who also joined Sackers upon qualification in 2003 specialises in pensions and corporate transactions, pensions regulator clearance issues and pension investment.

Sackers senior partner Ian Pittaway (pictured) commented: "These promotions reflect our policy of rewarding exceptional performance and keeping talent firmly embedded within the firm. Eleanor and Stuart make a great contribution to Sackers and both thoroughly deserve their promotions."

The news comes after Sackers' June launch of a standalone business offering project management, secretarial support, and corporate governance advice to companies and pension scheme trustees.

Sackers Support Services was established on 15 June as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the firm.
