Davies Arnold Cooper (DAC) has announced its annual promotions round, with three partners made up ahead of the firm's merger with Beachcroft.

The promotions, which took effect on 1 July, see construction partner Royston Pendley and insurance partners Lyn Crawford and Evi Hava made up in the firm's London office.

Pendley acts primarily on behalf of contractors and international engineering companies in their disputes. He qualified as a solicitor at Beale & Co, before joining Shadbolt & Co's construction and engineering disputes practice in 2004 and then DAC in 2008.

Crawford advises insurance companies on policies, liability and recovery claims, while Hava specialises in solicitors' negligence claims and also provides insurers with policy advice.

The promotions mark a slight increase on last year's promotions round, when the firm made up two in its Madrid insurance litigation practice.

DAC senior partner Danny Gowan commented: "I would like to congratulate our new partners and wish them every success in the future. I am very pleased to be promoting these exceptional lawyers whilst leading up to our merger with Beachcroft on 1 November."

The news follows last month's announcement (22 July) that DAC is to merge with Beachcroft, creating a top 20 UK firm with turnover in excess of £175m and around 230 partners.

Gowan will become international senior partner at the combined firm, while Beachcroft senior partner Simon Hodson will become senior partner, with managing partner Paul Murray taking on the role of overall managing partner.
