Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson has made up one new partner in the City as part of a six-strong global promotions round.

Private equity lawyer Laura Brunnen joins the partnership in London as one of only two new partners outside Fried Frank's New York headquarters, alongside Hong Kong capital markets lawyer Joshua Coleman.

The remaining appointments are in the US firm's New York headquarters, where four lawyers join the partnership in the employment, corporate, real estate and finance practices.

Brunnen, who joined Fried Frank in 2009 from Kirkland & Ellis and whose practice also covers public M&A, takes Fried Frank's London partnership to 17. The US firm has five partners, including Brunnen, with private equity experience.

Fried Frank's senior executive partner, Justin Spendlove, who is also London managing partner said: "We are proud to welcome these outstanding lawyers to the firm's partnership. They will play an integral role in the continued success and growth of the firm in the years to come."

Most recently Fried Frank boosted its London presence with the hire of two partners from Bryan Cave. Litigation partners Nick Cherryman and James Kitching both joined the firm earlier this year.
