Davies Arnold Cooper (DAC) insurance litigation partner Christian Kelly has left the firm to join legal recruitment consultancy Cogence Search.
Kelly joined Cogence as head of insurance this month after one year at DAC. He joined the insurance specialist firm in July last year from US outfit Cozen O'Connor.
The news follows Cogence's hire of intellectual property (IP) specialist and former 7 Bedford Row chief executive Peter Rouse as a senior legal recruitment consultant in June this year.
Cogence is a legal recruiter for both fee earners and support staff with a focus on private practice. The consultancy also handles work for in-house clients.
Kelly said: "I decided to join Cogence because of the professionalism and expertise they displayed when working with me as a partner.
"Having successfully developed a strong and loyal client following in private practice and a reputation for the delivery of a very high quality service I will bring the same standard of client service and delivery now that I am working within Cogence."
In private practice Kelly specialised in insurance relating to engineering matters in the onshore energy sector, as well as product liability in the food and beverage industry.
Cogence was set up in May 2009 by former legacy Hammonds commercial litigator Mark Husband and ex-Haymarket Consulting managing director Nigel Lawrence.
The news comes ahead of DAC's merger with Beachcroft, which is set to go live on 31 October, creating a firm with a combined turnover in excess of £175m.
