Latham & Watkins has become the latest US firm to announce its annual partner promotions, with four London lawyers making the grade out of a global total of 23.

The promotions round, which will take effect in the New Year (1 January), also includes 11 of counsel promotions, none of which are in the City.

The group of new partners comprises lawyers who advise on a range of transactional, litigation and regulatory practice areas and are spread across a number of core industry sectors such as energy, financial services, healthcare and technology.

The new partners in London include corporate lawyers David Boles, Claire Keast-Butler and Bobby Reddy. Boles and Keast-Butler focus on equity and debt capital markets and general securities law, while Reddy is an M&A and private equity lawyer.

The fourth lawyer to join the London partnership is Oliver Browne, who specialises in arbitration and the resolution of cross-border disputes.

Aside from the four London promotions, the firm has added five new partners in Washington, three in San Diego, as well as two apiece in New York and San Francisco. It also added one new partner apiece in Riyadh, Chicago, Hamburg, Los Angeles, Munich, Silicon Valley and Singapore.

Firmwide chairman Robert Dell commented: "These attorneys have consistently demonstrated their exceptional legal skills and intense dedication to client service. They've also shown the attributes of team spirit and intellectual curiosity that are hallmarks of the firm, and which make them valuable resources to their colleagues and clients alike."

Last year, the firm made only three partner promotions in the City, with one new of counsel also joining the ranks.
