Collyer Bristow has strengthened its London construction practice with a partner hire from legacy Davies Arnold Cooper (DAC). Jonathan Pawlowski joined the London law firm this month after leaving DAC in the days leading up to its merger with Beachcroft.

Pawlowski specialises in construction litigation, acting for public utilities, institutions, developers and contractors in relation to construction, engineering and substantial infrastructure projects.

His hire brings the total number of partners at the firm to 33, following the hire of McGrigors real estate partner Alex O'Connor in September.

O'Connor, who joined McGrigorsp from Norton Rose in 2005, specialises in commercial real estate with a particular emphasis on development work.

Collyer Bristow partnership director Phillip Palmer commented: "The real estate team has done some excellent work for clients over the past year and the addition of the combined expertise and experience of Alex and Jonathan further enhances the service we are able to offer clients in development and construction."

The DAC Beachcroft merger went live on 31 October, creating a combined firm of more than 230 partners and 2,000 staff with an expected turnover of around £190m.
DAC insurance litigation partner Christian Kelly also left the firm in September to join legal recruitment consultancy Cogence Search as head of its insurance practice.
