Real estate partner Adam Marks voted in for three-year term
Taylor Wessing has elected real estate partner Adam Marks (pictured) as the new senior partner of its UK arm.
Marks took up a three-year term at the Anglo-German firm's helm earlier this month (1 November) replacing Martin Winter, who has stepped down after six years in the role.
Marks has been a partner at Taylor Wessing since 1999 and headed the real estate group between 2003 and 2007. He also spent four years on the top 40 firm's executive board and previously sat on the international management board.
His practice focuses on the commercial property sector, advising clients on commercial and residential developments, investments, acquisitions and disposals.
Taylor Wessing's UK managing partner Tim Eyles said: "There are many exciting developments happening at the firm, so Adam takes on the role at an important time. We have a very clear strategy and I know Adam shares my enthusiasm and ambition in realising it over the coming years."
Marks added: "It is an exciting time to be at Taylor Wessing. Under Tim's leadership, we have a focused strategy with an increasingly international reach and I look forward to supporting Tim in continuing the firm's growth."
Winter, who did not stand for re-election, was first selected as senior partner in 2005, taking up a second term in November 2008. He has been a partner at the firm since 2001 and, before becoming senior partner, served as head of the UK leveraged private equity group and international private capital group until 2005.
Before joining Taylor Wessing he was senior partner at Biddle & Co until its merger with legacy Pinsent Curtis. Winter is returning to practise as a partner in the private equity team.
Eyles has been Taylor Wessing's UK managing partner since 2009 when he replaced Michael Frawley in the role. Taylor Wessing saw revenues climb 9.15% during the 2010-11 financial year to £92m, with profits per equity partner rising by nearly 19% to £537,600.
