Eversheds, Pinsent Masons and DAC Beachcroft have won roles on healthcare company United Drug's inaugural legal panel.

The trio was appointed to the company's UK panel following a formal tender process over the summer and are expected to advise on a broad range of areas including M&A, commercial, competition and regulatory, dispute resolution and litigation, employment and tax.

The company, which provides logistics, sales and packaging for the healthcare sector, also appointed an Irish legal panel consisting of A&L Goodbody and Beauchamps Solicitors, with Eversheds also winning a place.

Eversheds healthcare head Bill Gilliam commented: "United Drug was looking for a one-stop shop to service its legal needs across Europe and we are delighted that they have selected us as fitting the bill. The company has great ambitions to expand globally and we look forward to helping them do just that."

DAC Beachcroft corporate partner Jocelyn Ormond added: "We bring to our relationship with United Drug a keen understanding of the challenges and opportunities which the healthcare and pharmaceuticals markets present."

The Dublin-based company is listed on the Irish and London Stock Exchanges, with operations in Ireland, England, the US, Belgium and the Netherlands. In 2010 its annual revenue exceeded €1.7bn (£1.46bn).

Pinsents first acted for United Drug on its acquisition last year of healthcare communications company InforMed Direct for £11.4m, with an additional amount of up to £5.9m payable based on agreed profit targets over three years.
