Mayer Brown has promoted six London lawyers to its partnership as part of a 39-strong global promotions round.
The London promotions, which take the City office to 100 partners, are on par with last year when the transatlantic firm made up six new partners in the City out of a 32-strong round globally.
Outside London, the promotions, which will take effect from the New Year, include eight new partners in Chicago, five each in New York and Washington respectively, three in Palo Alto, as well as one new partner in the firm's Charlotte office.
Seven new partners are spread across offices in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Berlin and Paris. Meanwhile the round also includes four new partners at Latin American associate law firm Tauil & Chequer across Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
Chairman Bert Krueger said: "In addition to high quality legal skills, each [new partner] has demonstrated leadership, business acumen, excellence in client service and commitment to teamwork across practice area and geographic boundaries."
He added: "They already have made significant contributions to the firm and will play a pivotal role as we continue to enhance our ability to provide global solutions to our clients' legal and business needs through the strength of our local offices in the world's key business centers."
Separately, fellow US firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has promoted one London lawyer to its partnership as a part of an 11-strong global promotion round.
The rest of the promotions are in the US, where Los Angeles and Washington DC each gain four new partners, with Denver and New York adding one apiece. The majority of the new lawyers are litigators, with seven joining the firm's disputes practice. The corporate, finance, white collar and antitrust practices each gain one new partner.
