Reed Smith has made another high-profile hire in its London office, bringing in Berwin Leighton Paisner's (BLP) structured finance chief Tamara Box.

Box, who focuses on structured finance and securitisation transactions, derivatives, debt capital markets and debt restructurings, will be joining the US firm's City base in the New Year.

She has advised on the securitisation of a wide variety of assets in numerous jurisdictions, having also advised trustees, issuers, arrangers and servicers in connection with structured debt restructurings and workouts.

The news comes shortly after the expansive US firm confirmed its hire of SJ Berwin's former management candidate Perry Yam, who is joining the firm to launch a private equity practice. Yam was at SJ Berwin for sixteen years, becoming a partner in 2001.

UK firm BLP has seen significant fallout in recent months, with finance head Matthew Kellett moving to restructure the firm's finance practice in an attempt to focus on more profitable areas of work.
