Holman Fenwick Willan is set to make three internal partner promotions this year across its aviation, insurance and logistics sector focus groups.

The promotions, effective from 1 April, will see two partners made up in the firm's London headquarters with the other based in Dubai.

Edward Spencer, an aviation insurance specialist, and Justin Reynolds, who focuses on logistics and multimodal transport, will join the partnership in the City, Sam Wakerley, who specialises in shipping, trade and insurance has been made up in Dubai.

The firm said the announcement comes as part of a wider strategy to boost its core sector focus groups internationally. However, this year's three-strong round marks a significant reduction on last year's round of nine, which included six in the City and one apiece in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore.

Holman Fenwick senior partner Richard Crump (pictured) said: "As we continue our strategy of growth in our core sectors, their promotion complements the recent developments we have made through lateral hires and office openings."

The news comes after a raft of City firms announced their partner promotions this week, including Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Ashurst, Olswang, Trowers & Hamlins and Addleshaw Goddard.
