Nabarro has made up just one lawyer to its partnership in this year's round, with the sole promotion coming in the firm's Sheffield base.

The firm has added employment lawyer Tracey Marsden to its partnership ranks, with the promotion coming after five London lawyers were made up in last year's round.

Marsden, who focuses on labour relations, has particular experience of acting on and conducting her own advocacy in complex employment litigation, including discrimination and whistleblowing cases. Her team's clients include Great Portland Estates, Land Securities, Toronto Dominion Bank, UK Coal and the University of the Arts London.

Nabarro's 2011 promotions, all of which were based in London, were spread across the firm's dispute resolution, projects, planning and real estate practices.

The firm has also this year promoted ten associates to the role of senior associate, with one senior associate – real estate lawyer Sharon Deacon – made up to its managing associate ranks.

Senior partner Simon Johnston said: "Tracey has a wealth of experience in employment, a practice area where the quality and quantity of our client base is growing. Our Sheffield office is playing an increasingly important part in how we deliver value to clients and is central to a strategic move to develop our work for the manufacturing sector."

The news comes after Taylor Wessing last week announced its annual partner promotions, with the firm making up just one City lawyer alongside five across Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.
