Pinsent Masons has made up 13 lawyers to partnership in its 2012 promotions round, the first since it joined forces with Scots firm McGrigors on 1 May this year.
The firm's construction advisory and disputes practice has received four new partners, with London trio Shy Jackson, Sam Boyling and Kevin Joyce made up alongside Leeds lawyer John Williams.
Projects, corporate and financial institutions and human capital (FIHC) have seen two partner promotions apiece, with Edward Stead and Hannah Brader made up in the London corporate team, Neil Black and Nick Stones in the Birmingham FIHC group and legacy McGrigors projects lawyers Shirley Allen and Gillian Frew promoted in Aberdeen and Edinburgh respectively.
The remaining three partners are all based in London, which has received the bulk of the promotions with eight in total. Clare Murray has been promoted in strategic business services, while Richard Twomey has been made partner in litigation and compliance with Richard Griffiths joining the partner ranks in property, planning and environmental.
This year's promotions round is a slight improvement on 2011, when Pinsents made up five partners, including three in London and one in Singapore, while McGrigors added six to its partnership, with three promoted in Belfast, two in London and one in Aberdeen. No overseas partners have been made up this year.
In addition, a dozen lawyers have been promoted to legal director, with three each in property and FIHC and the remainder spread across the firm's strategic business services, corporate and litigation groups.
Managing partner David Ryan commented: "The combined firm will continue to nurture and invest in talent, ensuring that we have the capability to support our clients around the world. All of our successful candidates should be extremely proud of their achievement."
