Allen & Overy (A&O) has overhauled the management of its global projects, energy and infrastructure group, instating a ten-member global board to replace retiring projects head Anne Baldock (pictured).

The new 10-partner board is chaired by City partner Gareth Price, who also co-heads the firm's energy sector group, alongside nine other partners.

The line-up comprises City-based infrastructure sector co-head David Lee, Paris projects head Tim Scales, Ian Ingram-Johnson and Bimal Desai in Dubai, Tokyo office head Aled Davies, Chris Rushton in Sydney, Angus Jones in Perth, and US banking head David Slade and Latin America co-head Robert Kartheiser – both of whom are based in New York.

The firm said the new structure had been brought in to mirror the increasingly international nature of the group, which has grown to 250 lawyers – including 70 partners – with the addition of new offices in key jurisdictions such as Morocco, Indonesia and Australia.

The management changes follow Baldock's retirement from the firm at the end of last month (30 April). She had solely headed the group since 2007, and was also the first female partner to join A&O's global board in 2001, going on to serve two terms.

The highly regarded partner oversaw a consistently successful period for A&O's projects team, which has regularly topped deal rankings in the sector. She has worked with major clients including Lloyds TSB, the European Investment Bank and Bank of America.

She also notably stood for the managing partner role at the firm in 2002, eventually losing out to current senior partner David Morley.
