Kennedys has broken through the £100m revenue mark for the first time, with preliminary turnover results for 2011-12 showing an 11.6% increase on last year.

The firm has seen turnover grow from £96.8m last year to a pre-audited figure of £108m during the last financial year, with around £83m coming from Kennedys' UK offices and the remaining £25m from its international network.

The firm is yet to calculate profits, but has said that it does not expect to see any decrease.

Kennedys currently sits at 30th place in the UK top 50, after the firm broke into the rankings for the first time three years ago with a 31% revenue hike during 2008-09. The firm subsequently posted a second successive 30%-plus increase in 2009-10, with revenue last year growing a further 10%.

Senior partner Nick Thomas (pictured) said: "You need to grow by at least 10% to do more than stand still in this market. Real inflation is always higher than the reported indices suggest and operating a business in London and other capital cities is costly.

"We are yet to calculate profits, but with turnover in line with budget, we don't expect profits to have gone backwards at all. We are very pleased with our performance"

The news comes after Kennedys announced its annual promotions this week with the firm adding four lawyers to its partnership, including three in the City.

The insurance outfit has continued to grow its international footprint over the last year, after merging with its Dublin associate office O'Hare O'Connor Walshe in June 2011, in the same month that it launched a presence in Brazil through an association with local firm Torres Marcellino & Associados.
