ITV has finalised its new legal panel, with Slaughter and May and Olswang among a raft of firms winning spots, while Addleshaw Goddard has come off the roster.

Slaughters and Olswang have been reappointed to the panel alongside firms including DLA Piper, Hogan Lovells, Charles Russell and Wiggin.

Addleshaws and London firm Goodman Derrick have both come off the broadcaster's line-up, which was last reviewed in 2008 when nine firms were appointed. These also included US firm Dewey & LeBoeuf, which was set to enter administration in the UK as Legal Week went to press.

Firms were told of their appointment around a month ago following a review led by ITV general counsel Andrew Garard, with all of the terms expected to last for three years.

Garard announced the review in June last year and at the time said the company was considering increasing the number of firms on the line-up.

The last review saw ITV slash its panel from 50 firms to nine, with firms asked to look at how they could increase alternative fee arrangements and value-added services after Garard phased out the billable hour for panel firms.

By last summer the change in fee structure had helped ITV's legal team cut its spend on external lawyers by 35% since the 2008 review.
