Gateley has confirmed its 2012 partnership promotions, with six lawyers made up in the firm's Scottish arm alongside one in the English limited liability partnership (LLP).

Manchester real estate lawyer Jon Mason has been made up to partner in the English LLP. His practice has a focus on urban regeneration and development schemes, and he has acted for clients including Lancashire County Cricket Club and Liverpool and Colchester city councils.

Meanwhile, in Scotland, where the firm is known as HBJ Gateley, six lawyers have been added to the partnership, including five in Edinburgh.

The five Edinburgh promotions comprise construction disputes specialist Anne Struckmeier, Susan McDonald in social housing and regeneration, finance lawyer Mike Scott,, Stuart Clubb in dispute resolution and the firm's energy and climate change head Paul Minto.

Elsewhere, construction lawyer Frazer Wardhaugh has been promoted in Glasgow.

This year's round marks an increase on last year, when two partners were made up in Leicester and Birmingham, with none in Scotland. The ring-fenced LLP set up to accommodate 38 partners who joined from collapsed Manchester firm Halliwells in 2010 was rolled into Gateley's English LLP on 1 May this year.

The Halliwells bolt-on catapulted Gateley into the top 50 for the first time last year, boosting revenues by around 23% to £63m, up from £51.2m in 2009-10. Revenues across the firm's English and Scottish LLPs are expected to be up by around 7% for 2011-12, with profits per equity partner still being finalised.
