Clifford Chance (CC), Reynolds Porter Chamberlain and Stephenson Harwood have all posted their autumn trainee retention rates, with all three seeing percentage decreases.

CC is keeping on 77% of its intake of newly-qualified (NQ) lawyers this September. Of 62 incoming trainees at the magic circle firm, 50 were offered positions, of which 48 accepted.

While the percentage is marginally up from March's 76% intake, it is slightly down on last September's retention rate of 83%, when 43 stayed on at the firm after 46 of an intake of 52 were offered roles.

Meanwhile, RPC has kept on 80% of the autumn's qualifying trainees. Of 15 NQs, 12 were offered roles, all of whom accepted. The rate is down on last September's percentage rate, when the firm retained 100% of its 13 trainees.

Elsewhere, Stephenson Harwood has retained 75% of its autumn intake, keeping on six out of eight trainees. The result is slightly down on March's qualifying round, when the firm retained five (83%) of its six NQs.

Dickinson Dees has also confirmed its retention rate for the firm's latest trainee intake, with 13 of 15 NQs kept on, equating to 87%.

The news comes after CMS Cameron MckKenna, Olswang and White & Case announced retention rates for their September 2012 intakes last week, with Camerons confirming a healthy 84% retention rate, while Olswang and White & Case kept on 64% and 81% respectively.
